Driver who couldn't say no
(7 posts)-
I boarded a very full inbound bus this morning at Rathmines (I won't say which route because the driver could get into trouble) and it left the stop full to capacity. To my amazement, the bus, though stuffed, continued picking up at the next 2 stops until passengers were standing right up at the front window alongside the driver and well forward of the white line. As we approached the next stop the driver indicated he was going to stop again even though there wasn't even standing room left. At this point I said he should keep on going, the bus really was stuffed, and he did in fact keep on going. It is nice to have a driver who tries to fit an extra few in, but I thought this guy really was a bit OTT.Posted 1 year ago #

Richard : This type of misplaced bonhomie could just as easily be described as dangerous negligence.
The Rail fora are awash with complaints of overcrowding on the Dart and Suburban lines.
There is no reason in a location such as Rathmines for this nonsense.
However it does underline a growing problem within Dublin Bus of drivers who simply do not have the self-confidence to Manage their Bus in an effective safe manner.Posted 1 year ago # -
The same bus came today with a different driver, but once again totally overloaded. In the circumstances i am going to name the route. It was the 15E.Posted 1 year ago #

Richard. The route is irrelevant.
If the journey si overloading to the degree you mention on a regular basis there IS something awry.
I would suggest you e-mail Dublin Bus with your observations or telephone Ringsend Depot.Sometimes these mails and calls DO get a result..Remember the schools are not yet back !!Posted 1 year ago # -
to be quite honest that was an accident waiting to happen, i never let any more than 12 standing on my bus,

If we leave them behind they moan, pick them up they moan.
Were they standing towards the rear? Or just the normal 15 in the luggage rack area?Posted 1 year ago # -
the 15E is a broadstone bus. not ringsend garage as stated.. and as sickcert said
" If we leave them behind they moan, pick them up they moan." ya just can't win.
