Can anyone confirm how long its going to be that the No 39 will not be going into Blanchardstown centre is going to last. Apparently the traffic is so bad regardless of the time of day that Dublin Bus will not be running services in there for the foreseeable future

the first we heard of it was at 610am on the bus when the driver announced 2 stops from the centre. and is it going to be all day every day or just in the morning s ...
its not fair on thosethat have get down from ongar .. and are they going to provide security for the people who start at 6am and finish again when it is dark to walk down to whitestown to get the busPosted 3 years ago # -
soke to the controller in phisboro garage and he explained that the problem is because of the del;ay of getting in and out of the centre
someone was gone to a meeting this morning to try and resolve it but until that there will be no 39 buses going into the centrePosted 3 years ago # -
But the traffic is light going into the centre at that hour of the morning !!.

Interesting rumours on this I heard.
1. its happened cos Dublin Bus is in dispute with the Blanchardstown Centre Management owing to their inability to keep traffic flowing
2. the government have whacked Dublin Bus over the knuckles on the state of the company and the unions are flexing their muscles
3. the drivers are a tad annoyed at the prospect of losing all that overtime over the EU working directive and are throwing a strop

We got an email about this, maybe this is the definitive answer:
"...the reason behind this action from the Bus
Drivers them selves was because they were tired of having Motorists park temporally on the Bus stops to let their own passengers out ,
which in turn delays the bus drivers trying to get in to the bus stops its self.
"They are due to have talks with the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre management at 10 am today to see what measures can be taken to stop these motorists from parking in and on these bus stops."
So either way, depending how those talks go, maybe we'll have some movement on this soon.Posted 2 years ago # -
may be they should stop the cars coming into the blue area which is where the buses go - just let the cars use the surrounding areas - plenty of space around those areas.. and keep the blue are for buses and motorbikes and pushbikes and pedestrians !!Posted 2 years ago #

route 139 is to be introduced and the 39 service to be halved and the 39 will serve the centre and the 139 will be an exprees to ongar/
this is expected to happen soon
and the 39 route will go back thru centre
