Sadly some 'people' take things from the museum so most exhibits that are closed stay closed...

well i was going to work in mcdonalds clondalkin yesterday going for the 51B or 68.

missed the 68, so got 51B , AV403 operated it.

    very colourful inside,
but before i got off at the mill s.c. a drunk got on drinkin a can of gold dutch, but he spills the lot on the floor and over 2 people.,

so its started, 05-D-buses are now part of dublin life now.
first time on a 05 av and the bus ends up smellin like gold dutch!!!

it usually happens on most routes, especcially around 10pm, when the Drunks are either Thrown Out, or have left on the own Accord

    Nope ADO,not necessarily.
The dipso probably belonged to the rapidly growing sector of Irish polulation who have lost the ability to wipe their own arse and who fully expect somebody else to wipe it for them.
The regulations are VERY simple and of long standing.
NO eating or drinking is permitted on Dublin Bus vehicles.
U can translate that into the first official language if U wish but its meaning remains the same.
However this simplicity is totally alien to a large number of passengers who appear to have some form of virus which demands they swill vast quantities of cheap rotgut on the bus and then display their appalling lack of hand-eye-mouth co-ordination by spilling the contents of their Bottles/Tins over themselves, the floor, and anybody unfortunate enough to be close to their stinking personage.
Nobody wants to deal with it....Nobody feels confident enough to say to the swaying slobbering twits ...."Hey Muppet....Stand back there and let the Civilized folk on first...Then prove U can wipe yer own arse before U travel on this Bus." The clever Bit is that whilst the cretin is demonstrating his backstroke,he/she has to put down the Bag/Crate/Keg of Dutch Gold giving the Busdriver time to shut the doors and piss off down the road.
Attract people out of their cars..? are U joking ?????

Ah Kev,is`nt it great how all these types are so EXPERT at our job...?
If the creature has reading ability then refer him to Page 227 of the latest Timetable.
Its covered under Section 22 of the Transport Act 1950.
    Specifically Statutory Instrument 236/1990.
Generally known as "The Dublin Bus Bye Laws.
The company have generously broken the regulations down into Bullet-Points and I quote..
"No person shall consume alcoholic drinks or other beverages or food while on the vehicle".
Be aware that the regulation covers "Persons" on board the Bus so be careful of having similar paraphernailia on display in the cab as you lecture the unfortunate creature.
The other Bye-Law which is of particular interest to me is..."No person while on the vehicle shall sing, perform on any musical or other instruments or use any audible radio, television, record player, tape recorder,or PORTABLE APPARATUS."....Now tell me do you think this covers a Mobile Phone...????

So, when I'm on the Bus, listening to my Radio, or Texting Someone, I'm breaking the Law!

And when Drivers have Radios in their Cabs, Thats Breaking Rules as well!

CIÉ make me laugh sometimes, (with their stupidity)
