Saw This On The Bus Stop Ob Amiens Street Today New Timetables For Routes 31/31B And Cancelation Of Route 31A
DB Finally Saw Common Sense And Combined The 31A/B And They Now Only Operate As Far As Howth Summit With Some Selected Buses Going To Howth Dart Station. Now All 31's Go To Howth Summit With A Frequency Of About 15-25 Minutes.

    See For Yourself,

Your links are dead. Here are the right ones:

    Route 31 Route 31B

And they really butchered the 31B to boot—it has less than half of the frequency it used to have. Should have called it the 31A, because most of the weekday trips operate via the Strand Road routing anyway (which was never too popular at any time, was it?) IMHO, they should have also extended the 102 beyond Sutton Station to Howth Summit.

The bus I really miss the most, though, is the old route 88.

Aside from cutting the service to the south side of Howth, they have substantially reduced the frequency of the buses at the weekends. They're full already because of the Dart not working.

Instead of 24 buses servicing these two routes, there are now only 8.
The service was already pitiful and completely inadequate, now its
just a joke. How are people expected to commute properly with such a
    service?

In their defence Dublin Bus will say they have increased significantly
the capacity on the 31 route but they have just taken the 31b buses and put these on the 31 route and reduced weekend buses.

The people living on the 31 route already had a much better service
than those living on the 31b route, and they are also much closer to
the DART stations at Sutton and Howth. It doesnt make sense that
their route should be increased to the detriment of the 31b.
Furthermore, more people live on the route Sutton Cross - Howth Summit
    - Howth village than on the route Sutton Cross - Howth Village.

It would make much more sense to have the majority of buses serving
the 31b side with the buses terminating in howth village. Better still
amalgamate the routes so that there is one frequently running bus that runs along the current 31N nitelink route (anticlockwise around the
hill of howth terminating at Sutton Cross ).

    We already have
suffered a reduced DART service since the line was extended to
Malahide, and the 88 feeder bus from Sutton DART station is but a
distant memory, replaced with the 102 which only serves people in
Malahide/Portmarnock. Adequate public transport is not a luxury but a neccessity.

A reduction of 66% the number of buses on the
31a/31b routes is an unacceptable scenario and i would urge people affected by this to contact dublin bus as well as the local representatives

Join the 31/31B with the 15C and run it from Howth Station to Whitechurch estate via current 31 route to Connolly Station, straight on past Connolly and IFSC, over bridge to turn right onto George's Quay, Burgh Quay, left onto D'Olier Street, right onto College Street (15C terminus), Nassau Street, Kildare Street, St Stephens Green East, Earlsfort Terrace and normal 15C route to Whitechurch Estate.
