I will start the ball rolling with route 39.
Top class for frequency and reliability.
Top class buses.
Top class drivers.

the 15B always there, very reliable- if only they would extend it to Whitechurch Estate via Ballyroan Road, Ballyboden Road and Taylors Lane

I'm not too sure how many would agree with Go Sharp on his view of the 39. While it may be frequent it certainly is not attractive in it's routing unless you live before Blanchardstown. In some ways the 39 is the victim of it's own success - it started up as the flagship CitySwift route but since it's introduction in 1993? the area it covers has expanded and rather than introduce new routes, the 39 simply wanders around trying to cover everywhere which must be nightmare for those traveling from Clonsilla or our newest addition, Ongar.
If you look at how many new housing estates have gone up in those 12 years around Blanchardstown, you will see that the frequency of the 39 has not increased at all (apart from double deck conversion in 96). The 39 - yes it is good but it could be so much better.
My nomination for best route goes to the golden child of Dublin Bus - the 46A. Newest buses, reliable and fast (the qbc actually works).

I agree with AD11 the 120, has to be the best
before the new timetable came into affect the service was alright but it is even better knowing that if you miss a 120 another will be down in 5 minutes,
and we also have the best driver in dublin, his name is jimmy, he only drives the 120 because he says it is probably the most hassle free buses operating from Phibsboro Garage
so the 120 is the best bus in dublin!!

I would say the best route in Dublin is the 13/A always on time and nice friendly driver,sPosted 3 years ago #

13 best route in Dublin, really? What is the earthly point in having a terminus in Merrion Square, an area which is as dead as doorknobs after 6pm? I nominate the 145, a maginificent route but one which, like myself, has some frequency problems.Posted 3 years ago #

it has to be the 39 i dont even get this bus and im jealous i freeze my ass of wating for 77as and i witness countless 39 buses passing me there must be one every 5 mins, and even if it does wander around new estates at least you can be sitting in the warmth of the bus as appose to still praying at the bus stop for the 77a

the 39? can you let me know what world you live in cos i want to go there!
the 39 route is dramatically underserviced. there is a huge population in the area and just far too few buses. the extending of the route to ongar has just worsened the problems.
the standard wait for a bus is about 15 minutes. i have often been waiting over half an hour - particularly at off peak times.
if getting one in town in the evening, you can usually forget getting a seat if you get on at trinity (first stop after terminus) and you can forget getting on it at all by the time it gets to the quays.
to sum up:
.too few buses
.too long a route
.little bits of bus lane here and there and inching along long stretches at busy times
p is write - i just wish i was on the 46a route - i appreciate this goes round the world a bit as well in dun laoghaire but there are plenty of lovely empty clean buses that hunt in 3s

Indeed Fizzy, the grass is always greener on the other side! I've always thought the 39 to be one of the worst routes in the city, unless you rely on the service you won't really understand how bad it is at times.
In comparisson, the 77A is usually reliable (as much as a route can be) - it may not be as frequent but you can be sure to board the bus when it arrives.
