Bus to DCU

I have to visit Dublin City University (a.k.a. Ballymun Tech) tomorrow, and on looking at the map I find that there is no frequent or regular route that goes into DCU campus, as distinct from passing by it on the main road. Surely DCU should rate something like the no.10 route, with a terminus inside the campus, rather than having to hike to or from the main roads outside?

I always thought the 10 was for lazy bastards who'd rather take a less direct (than the 46a) and hence, slower route into/out of town for the sake of not having to walk in that time!

God forbid, students getting a minor amount of excersise! I think it takes about 4 minutes to get from the gate on the Ballymun road into where I do most of my studying.

Must say, haven't heard the "Ballymun Tech" one as of yet btw and I go there.

You're having a laugh right? You're complaining about having to walk about 2 minutes to get to a building??.. try living 20 minutes from DCU by car but spending anywhere from an hour and a half to 2 hours commuting on 2 buses EACH way!!

Reese, you are in a sense suporting my point, which is not simply the hike from Ballymun Road but the fact that DCU is not taken seriously as a destination by DB. Once you put in a campus bus stop then pressure appears to route more buses that way - vide the fact that the 3, the 11B, the 17 and maybe others go to Belfield now when once only the 10 did.

More to the point Dick,Why the fukk was a full scale Bus Terminal or at least the space for one NOT an integral part of the huge work which went into the Collins Ave side of DCU Campus...???

oh dear god people, we(dcu students) do not need a bus stop in the campus, incase you didnt notice dcu went for quality not quantity and so isnt in anyway as big as ucd.the service in and out of town isnt bad at all, its the 103 thats the joke, like reese i live 15mins drive away but on 2buses it takes 1.5-2hrs bcoz it goes round the houses & rarely turns up and dont even get me started on the 105 which goes into college once in the morning and home twice in the evening at times that dont even match up with the beginning or ends of lectures...only in ireland!

Hello DCU heads! Candy u live 15mins drive from the DCU and its takin 1.5hours on 2buses?? Where bouts u coming from?? Reese ur having the same problems?? where u comin from?? Ballymun road it pretty much well served by bus routes already but i agree 100% with candygirl bout the 103! When the 103 was first introduced a few years ago it had a frequency of 15mins, but the demand was not there for this route so it was cut back. There is no point of running a bus every 15mins or so if theres going to be no passengers on it! The route the 103 takes is all part of its job, the 103 bus was created to serve large housing estates ie Ballymun Santry White hall Clontarf and so on and to connect these people with Hospitals (Beaumount & Crc Clontarf), Shops, train stations! The percentage of people using this route Do come from the above estates so a more direct routing would inconvinence most of its passengers!

    Haha! Good one David!
As a DCU student myself, I can verify that we can all talk properly and coherently!

And! To answer the question that started this whole frickin thread, DCU is served by the 13a, 13, 11a, 11b, and 19a!

Also the 3 serves DCU. But have you ever noticed that some buses simply refuse to stop despite having a number up. Are they out of service or something?
