the introduction of route 92 on monday has come as a surprise.
it said somewhere in the paper that DB planned an "IMP" style route between Heuston and Stephens green, but they couldnt obtain a licence, but now out of the blue we have route 92.

so there is really no need for the 2 luas lines to meet up anymore because of this route.

and another thing ,why has donnybrook got the liberty to operate this route wouldn`t it be better for phibsboro to operate it?

Here's the timetable for the route in question.

I suspect this to be a "stopgap route" that will connect Heuston Station with the Luas Green Line before an actual physical connection between Green and Red Lines is built...much like the route 90 was the precursor of sorts to the Red Line...

Gary says: "so there is really no need for the 2 luas lines to meet up anymore because of this route." I do not agree. If the routes met then only 1 change of horse would be necessary. With a linking bus there are 2 changes of horse, i.e. a user of both Luas lines must board 3 vehicles in order to complete his or her journey. I think the link is better than nothing, but sooner or later the Green line will have to come to the river. The sooner and more directly the better.
