Ticket controllers
(4 posts)-
Hi everyone
This site is a great idea and hope at least to any misfournate Dublin Bus user out there. Just a short one - I travel on the 42 daily to work and step on about the 4th stop- this morning standing right at the top of the bus - a Dublin Bus ticket controller - wow - its a special day when you see one of those lads !! So there he was standing at the front of the bus - even if u were still sleeping you could hardly miss him! About 10 mins into the journey he then starts to check our tickets although it was plainly obivous that we had all seen him and him us. We had seen him and even the dishonest among us had reached into their pockets and bought tickets and I assume he was on the bus from the beginning and had realised this too! Maybe not, maybe he too was still in sleepy mode !
Then after this quick round downstairs he headed up the stairs after about 5 mins debating this action and looking curiously up the stairs. Its a big scary world up those stairs you know !! Although on the 42 there is no smoking or drugs so it is not so.. scary but our ticket controller was a little weary about climbing those stairs but he made it and sadly did not return to join us downstairs so I hope he found a safe and cosy seat up there!!
So fellow bussers beware of the stairs !!! You might never come back down again!

Hello Breeda,
I'm still waiting for her phonenumber. Will I get it before Easter? :)
About bus, I don't take it anymore. I had enough to be late every morning. But please note that it could be worst (like the DART for exemple)

Looks like a bit of romance brewing on BUSRAGE!
As far as the dart being less reliable than the bus, just forget it. I would rather be waiting 15 minutes for a dart than over two hours for a bus (this happened to me a couple of weeks before Christmas).

What? You think 2 hours is bad?! Well, you know those skybus stops - the long, grey ones with the light at the top that only comes on at night? I waited at one of those for a skybus for almost a week before exposure, hunger, thirst, exhaustion, and delerium got the better of me and I tried to chew off my arm. I am now allowed five minutes contact with the outside world on the Internet in the white walled building I now live in.
