Why do all protests have to shut down O'Connell street which is the major bus terminus for the city? Why couldn't the car free cycle protesters and antiwar protesters have chosen to target a site which is not the site of environmentally friendly mass transit? Why do those of us who just want to live peacefully and use mass transit have to suffer everytime the city bus terminals around the quays are disrupted by protests?

Because of the GPO, the traditional "protest spot"...would be nicer if they could all jam into Moore Street, perhaps? ;-)
I agree, though...O'Connell Street has how many bus routes running on it..? Lots more than on the quays, that's for sure. Oh well...the Port Tunnel will solve all our road transportation problems (yeah right)...;-p

: that's the point of the march: to cause disruption so people think
That'll work backwards...disruption usually begets more disruption; the more disruption, the less time people have to think, making them resort to their instincts, flawed or otherwise...you don't want the UK to re-invade, do you? Keep the peace...
