41 route changes?
(10 posts)-
Has anyone out there heard anything about the 41 route changing, which as far as I've heard it'll go into Rivervalley aswell as the normal route? Is this just myth or have I been misinformed? Cos if it does change it'll make it even lousier and longer than it already is!!??!! And even more impossible to know when the next one will arrive (well thats nothing new then is it?)

Well, which is the normal route for the 41, is that going to Glassmore or is it going to Swords Manor?
There is nothing about this on the Dublin Bus web site. There are indeed route changes announced on there today, such as the 66N operating via Captains Hill, a few additional departures on route 69, a drastic reduction of service on routes 84N and 206, but not a word about (as you seem to be describing) a merging of routes 41 and 41C.
What was the source of your rumour? That would help shake the grape-vine, as it werePosted 4 years ago # -
I've heard from a good few folk that the 41C is changing its route. Leaving from outside the CBS in Swords, hanging a left at the mayors, goin up through River Valley, out the top and thru Boroimhe once that road is open. So i'd say the 41 should be "alright" for the moment.. Jaysus, I hate busses though..

Just through word of mouth, relations and all that.
Maybe what Jim is saying is what I heard but with people adding there own bits of detail to really mess up the story.
Although, my brother in law got a leaflet in the door about bus changes in the area (he lives in Rivervalley) but couldn't remember what it said when I quizzed him about it.

OK. It turns out that a leaflet from some T.D in the Swords area had the details of the upcomiing changes which they are against. The route that Jim said, starting from the CBS, is going to be the 41C at peak times and outside of these hours it looks like they want to join the 41 and 41C routes together, I suppose kinda like the current 41N, probably find out more in the coming weeks!

Be very careful about TDs being against anything.
Does he get the bus? Does he live on the route?
Is he looking for votes by any chance?
TDs really only want to get elected again.
It's very easy to be against something and not, as far as I'm concerned, worth the time of day. What useful alternative is proposed and have the local residents (remember, they include motorists as well) and particularly the public transport users been given a chance to give their views?Posted 4 years ago # -

I'm living away from Swords for nearly 5 years, but my family still live there and the 41N really is rotten. Not only do you get a free tour of the airport at about 4am (why does anybody want to go to the airport at 4am?) you also get a massive diversion around Rivervalley. Now this adds about 20 minutes to the trip. Back when I lived with my parents a nitelink took 20-30 minutes. Now its about 40-60 minutes - ridiculous. I know DB want to do this on the cheap but its too long a trip to consider.Posted 4 years ago #

Have to say the 41N going through RV has been great for me.. And I doubt it adds an extra 20 - 30 mins onto the Journey..
