The MV minibuses will be withdrawn eventually yes, but for now just a few have come off.

Donnybrook was crying out for the midi-sized WVs as the minibuses were struggling to cope with the demand on routes such as the 59 and 44B which used to be operated by full-sized single-deckers, until the last KC-class (GACs) were withdrawn. The newer full-sized buses were too big/long for these routes, but the WVs are just perfect.

Thus routes 59, 44B, 161 are now lowfloor operated.

However, it must be pointed out that this took place within the context of a fleet reduction - the 3 WVs transferred from Ringsend are not being replaced at that depot, while two of the three transferred from Clontarf are being replaced by double-decks transferred from Broadstone - taken from the pool of "euro" duties that provide extra rush-hour cover, again without replacement.

8 single-decks are being replaced at Cony Road this week (AD-class) by the new double-deck buses which would have operated the expanded 746.
