Its a good service

Why dont you losers get a life. The bus service in Dublin is good.Everyone wants a bus when THEY get to to a stop. The service is expensive to run buses cost money to buy and there is a severe shortage of decent people to drive the buses so leave DB alone.

We don't want a bus when WE get to a stop.. we want a bus when it's due to come. I stood at the 48A terminus in Hawkins St for 55 minutes waiting for ANY bus.. they are scheduled for every 20 minutes (2 elderly ladies were there before me.. I don't know HOW long) 6... yes that's right 6 48A's were all parked there at one stage.. and this was VERY early in my 50 minute wait!
It might be a good service in your area, but not in the rest of Dublin!

Instead of getting a life, I'm more interested in getting to work. The bus service is a means to an end. It is supposed to get us from a to b.
With the current state of Dublin Bus this is nearly impossible. Buses do not run to their timetables. Some leave early, most run late. any bit of rain and you can expect a route like the 75 or 84 to run 30mins to an hour late. This is not acceptable.
As far as "The service is expensive to run", I am well aware of this, as I, and all the other tax payers in the country pay for it. It is our bus service, we own it, and as the owners we have every right to expect value for money.
None of this has anything to do with the shortage of drivers, that is a completely different issue and has nothing to do with buses currently scheduled in the timetable not turning up on time (if at all).
I waited 30 mins for my bus this morning and it wasn't even raining.

Hello, Einstein. Ever heard of subsidies...? Those are monies that the government takes out of your taxes to make the buses run - the fares only cover a small percentage of the operating costs. Good for you if you're easily pleased...but don't change your tone if you get stuck thanks to DB and their infamous "three buses in a row" on the QBCs because the drivers don't know how to adhere to their schedule...

: It might be a good service in your area, but not in the rest of Dublin! That is an out and out lie my friend because that dosent happen. As i said not enough drivers and how about this for youre 3 buses in a row bus 1 leaves and stops at most stops therefore delayig it,Bus 2 goes picks up less people so goes faster and catches up and bus 3 well once in a blue moon do you see 3 of them in a row.
Now as for time tables lets say a 10 leaves the park at 9 to arrive at Belfield at 10.10 and leaves Belfield for the return journey at 10.20.Traffic is murder in town so it dosent get there untill 10.30.How does it catch up with the time table? its not DBs fault and as i said so many buses and so many drivers.
ANd the drivers are only taking there breaks with they can the cities infrastructure is the problem not Dublin Bus.

Oh my god, my idiot, don't you think designing a timetable that *can* be kept with might be an idea for DB? Yes, we all know traffic in town in murder - so why does DB assume (on the timetables) that it's gonna tak a 46A the same length of time to get through Donnybrook on a Monday morning as on a Sunday afternoon? Why? Because they're thick as s**t.

I really have to say, you are not making much sense at all.
Dublin Bus timetables are fantasy land. The way to solve it, so that buses arrive and depart at stops at the time listed in the timetable, is to do some research and publish REALISTIC timetables.
This would not require the hiring of any more drivers or the purchase of new buses, but simply the monitoring of traffic levels at different times of the day, on different days, during different times of the year.
Nobody on this message board is suggesting that dublin bus is to blame for the lack of infrastructure. The problem at hand here is the attitude from dublin bus which ignores the basic fact that traffic levels have soared, while the timetables remain totally useless and inaccurate.
As far as Dublin Bus being unable to run buses at a specific time because of a shortage of buses or drivers, such as the number 10 you mention, I have a simple solution: if it can't be run for whatever reason, don't advertise a bus at that time.
It really is that simple.
