All sorts of stuff under todays National Newsincluding articles about drivers getting big insurance hikes for getting ticketed for speeding (welcome to the real world, lads), the failure of the five-year plan to reduce road deaths by 20 percent, two separate articles on the points system and how well-equipped the Gardaí are insofar as enforcing it, plus a shocking report about the fact that over 59 percent of drivers exceed the 60-mph speed limit and only 57 percent of drivers wear their seat belts.
They sure make it sound like an utter free-for-all out on the asphalt. If you have a bus running by you, ride ityou will be well-protected if one of these mad drivers strikes the bus, rest assured.

Well if Oul Mr Brennan has his way there wont be any bus to catch.
In an amazing display of of either total incompetence or hyperintelligence The Gentleman went running off at the mouth to the Irish Indo yesterday about some half baked notion to "Franchise" 25% of Bus Eireanns business.
However much we are used to this type of cretinous behaviour it has to be noted that this is the SECOND occasion wherby The Minister has intervened via the media AFTER his Departmental Officials have made some progress in the delicate negotiations with BAC Unions,as was the case after last Tuesdays (16/11) round of talks.
There now has to be a strong question mark over (A) The Ministers committment to ANY form of dialogue and (B) The integrity of the Departmental Negotiation Team in the face of such undermining carry-on from their Boss.
Something is VERY wrong here....whats the word on the streets...or in da hood,as all the best Rappers insist on saying...????Posted 6 years ago #
