Ireland the worst greenhouse gas polluter in Europe

    This from an Irish Independent article (link here; requires registration to view).

    So, what’s this…greenhouse-gas emission in Ireland has risen a whopping 31 percent?!? while the EU only permitted a 13% rise until 2010 (but the rise will hit 40% by then).

    Now we face multi-million Euro fines for all of this car and lorry loving. What is the main cause? “A runaway increase in emissions from transport, especially road transport” according to the article. The current auto-friendly measures already in progress can only make things worse and worse.

    Will I have to wear a respirator next time I’m on holidays back home or what…?
