Basically means that a lot of selected services will have departures bound for the City Centre at 8 a.m. on average. Now I dont know who gets up that early to do their Christmas shopping, but instead of adding extra buses at peak times, they do this and make drivers lose a few hours of sleep. Brilliant
and whom will be riding these buses anyway, what with the parking incentives in town?

Most City Centre shops open at 9am so i presume its also there to get workers into work, thinking back to last christmas the traffic in the city centre on a Sunday morning was not too different from the usual rush hour. Also last Christmas there was extra working on routes on sundays so i'd imagine it will be similar this year.
Also if people have the option of travelling in earlier surely that will ease some of the pressure later on in the day when it is busier...

Did you notice there are no services on 78A and 79? Apparently people in Ballyfermot and North Clondalkin neither work nor shop.

That's because the 78A already has a much earlier service on a Sunday than other routes!

yes but its a loong and busy route which means it does not get to the city till 09.30. if like the other routes it had a service at 07.45 it would be in town for 08.45 and people starting work at 9am would be on time. Several other routes including 39 and 40 have earlier starts than 08.25 and thay are include in the list of 'major routes'
