    Yer dead right I do.
Someday very soon the entire industry is going to be floored when one of these time-expired wrecks self combusts and roasts all the chizlers inside.
It appears that the notion is to make children aware from an early age that Bus travel is for LOSERS and to do this we scour the four corners of the globe (!) for incredible examples of what in their homelands are simply scrap.
Oddly enough though,Aircoach`s new owner FirstGroup has probably the best knowledge of operating Dedicated high-quality SchoolBuses through it`s ownership of a large Yellow-Bus fleet in the USA........Hmmmm the plot thickens mayhap...

if privatization is going to benefit the end user

Oh yes, of course. How do you think that bus service ended up in government hands in the first place, if not for private companies not being able to make a go of it or, at least, provide decent service and equipment on a budget.

This privatisation garbage will go away once the companies fail and service quality plummets. In the meantime, there will be a few thousand more cars set loose on the roads to turn the current traffic crawl into a traffic stand-still…

Are we not talking about "privateering" here.

I know people who live in Sydney, which seems to have a good transport system in parts. However, they live in an area "serviced" by a private bus operator only. Guess what.... there are buses at peak times...... and none for the rest of the day. What do you think of that for privatisation (privateering you really mean), Seamus? Well? Are we to follow that example, Seamus?
