make the 38/A/C betterPosted 5 years ago #

How much better do you want it? Right now, those routes give 10-minute peak and 15-20 minute off-peak week-day service, 20-minute Saturday service, and half-hourly Sunday service (well, thats how it shows in the timetable).
Perhaps AMC will be permitted to run additional buses on these routes in the future, but first you and lots of your bus-riding friends have to write to 59 Sráid Uí Chonaill Uachtarach to show them that there is demand for additional busesPosted 5 years ago # -
give liams bus hire and amc the busy routesPosted 5 years ago #

well it seems to me AL that you dont live anywhere near corduff ... as for those timetables .. you might as well use them for tissue paper cause they area waste of time ... the only time the buses are on time are the ones very early in the morning ... other than that its a come as you please servicePosted 5 years ago #

Goodness, was that so hard to deduce? Ex-Leixlip County Kildare, ex-Elizabeth New Jersey, now in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, actually.
As for Corduff, why is it that the 38 was itself not made into a CitySwift route with frequencies on a par with the 39? Certainly, the population and demand for bus service warrants such. You will never see such service provided by AMC, thats for sure.Posted 5 years ago # -
The 38 and the 38 A B and C all run through Corduff as well as the 220 to the village and the 238 to the village as well get a life a decent service god help you all if alan martain or any one else get the routes so come on all you 40 cent bud people give Dublin bus a chance and stop ripping them off

Beware Privatisation (Privateering)
Lest all of you mortals think that privatisation is the answer to all our prayers in the realms of public transportation, hark onto these words of warning.
Some friends of mine live near Botany Bay in Sydney, Australia. This is a lovely city with about 4.5 million population. It has a good public transport system in most parts. However, my friends are "lucky" to live in an area which is not served by a public bus company. Instead, a private company has the public transport contract for their area.
Once peak travel times are over, morning and evening, a skeleton service only is employed. So much of a skeleton that you have to rely on either taxis or private cars.
What do you think of that for privateering, oops, privatisation?
I have no vested interest in public versus private. I am a regular bus user with an annual bus ticket. I just want to get to and home from work each day. Please leave the privateers out of public transportation.Posted 5 years ago # -
The issue in my opinion is not the volume of bus's or the timetable. Corduff and Ladyswell have a large enough population to have their own bus service. So to do Castleknock. Corduff needs a dedicated work bus regularly at peak times that avoid Blanchardstown and Castleknock Villages. The people working in town or the Navan RD need to get on to the Blanchardstown Bypass instead of taking a scenic route to town. Give Blanch Village and Castleknock a seperate service at peak times...bus's are crowded in Blanch in the mornings? Castleknock has such a large foreign student population that it warrants a seperate bus route!

I tend to agree. Why indeed is there no 38X service? The 39X cannot and does not serve such needs.Posted 5 years ago # -
There is another company in corduff that I have seen every mourning for the past couple of weeks at the same time and there called celtic journey tours . I would say there good as every mourning there on time .they look as if they would be able to put up with a demand as I have seen a few of there buses .Posted 4 years ago #

There should be a bus linking ladyswell, castlecurragh and corduff which bypasses blanch village and castleknock and go directly into down...maybe even having a couple of xpressess in the morning and evening.....definately think the demand is there!Posted 4 years ago #

Plenty of demand in general. As for such a service, who should provide it, DB or AMC?Posted 4 years ago #
-
I dont tink too many peopl would use the private service because they wouldn't accept DB commuter tickets r anything like that. Thats what happened on a private route between the clonsilla terminus of the 39 and the town centre. A private bus service was scrapped because they wouldnt accept DB tickets and many of the commuters gettin off the train station in clonsilla wouldnt pay extra money when they have their yearly and monthly bus and rail tickets...makes sense.

So much for privateering. The primary aim of privateers (oops, I mean private bus operators) is to make a profit, not to carry passengers.
I see an empty privateer bendy bus heading out from town every morning as I'm goin in on the 39A.
There's no profit in a DB ticket for the privateers, is there?
Competition, on the other hand, is an entirely different matter.Posted 4 years ago # -
Rs im not an expert on DB tickets but (someone please correct me if im wrong) as far as i know private opperators dont accept DB bus tickets because they dont have the machines.
In my previous message I said bout the private bus running between 39 terminus in clonsilla and the town centre. I remember when that private bus came by me once, there where bout 14 people at the bus stop after getting off the train and only one got one the bus because the rest of us had commuter tickets

will you stop going on about corduff for heavens sake .
you have the 38/A/B/C,39N,220,236, 238,and you sort of have the 40D and AMC also your near the N3 so get a 39/A/B/N/X.
are you not happy with that Myles?
SO STOP MOANING.
those buses are ok compared to the 33/41B/59/114/115/116/
117/118 and the rest.
so consider yourself lucky you ungrateful git.

KILL BILL 2....Is it any good ??Posted 4 years ago #

yes, its a great film you should go and see it if you are so curious.
i was just making the point that DB have enough buses in Corduff and there is no need for any more.
so Myles should be greatful and maybe if he isn`t happy with the service dont use the bus,buy a car or bike
and get of DB back

Has anyone else seen the type of crap e-mails that come from the likes of Malik? I've used that e-mail address for this message.
Does anyone else get this sort of crap in their e-mails? Now it's on this site for some reason. There needs to be greater editorial control over s**te like that.

Bill is right, the Corduff service is bad, but nowhere near as bad as the other "rural Dublin" routes. That is, of course, the few that remain, since Dublin Bus has been quietly winding down services on many smaller routes for years.Posted 4 years ago #

rs, as soon as time allows we will put a "report spam" link next to every message, this is one of the priority updates to the site.
unfortunately as it is run on a volunteer basis we don't have time to do as much as we'd like - if busrage was run as a full-time operation there would be daily news stories, better spam/abuse filtering. As it is, if anybody sees questionable content on the site please email us and we will get to it.Posted 4 years ago # -

why do u hate miles as he is my cousin

I think Miles is great and I would hate to see his peculiarly Northside postings disappear.
In addition he often reinforces a clearer appreciation of exactly what BAC are up against on the Corduff front.....Posted 4 years ago # -
f**k corduff take all the buses out of corduff just for the drivers safety
