why not put the 38c operating to blanchardstown scPosted 5 years ago #

There’s a few reasons for not doing that, one being that such a route was never part of the 38C’s traditional running pattern (this route always went through Corduff), another being that you would get a big stink out of AMC over unfair competition and all that jazz, and yet another being that you already have the 39/A/X, 70, 236, 237, 238, 239 and 270 going into the shopping centre thereof.
A more interesting and related question would be, when is Littlepace going to get a proper bus service into the city centre?? Fine, the 270 goes in there on a permanent basis, but it doubles-back to go to either Blanchardstown Centre or Dunboyne, plus you have the odd route 70 going in there (but not all of them, just one or two) and just about all the 70X buses. How about extending the 38 and 38A past their Damastown terminus to actually terminate at Littlepace, and completely leave route 70 out of the picture? Not a bad idea, right…?Posted 5 years ago # -

I suppose you have no sympathy for Littlepace residents…not enough 40Ds to serve the area; it’ll take the 40D even further out of its way; plus, the route for Tyrrellstown residents on the 40D, having to go through Snugborough, Cappagh, Finglas West & Cardiffsbridge, is difficult enough to bear.
Would not hurt to extend the 38 and 38A into Littlepace; they’ll get more direct and more frequent bus service into the city centre, and it really won&146;t be any skin off the routes’ noses what with it being a short extension from the Damastown terminus.

Ah...No 1....The real issue now for BAC AND the AMC`s of this world is what are the Dept of T playing at.
It is now becoming a little more than obvious that Oul Mr B`s 25% plans are not really geared towards providing Competition in Dublins Bus market (Undesirable as that is) but to providing a very specific competition (Totally undesirable) provided by operators who have little in common with AMC or any other IRISH companies.
Cora Collins on the recent Newstalk Late Night Live Prog was the first rep from a "Private" who I have heard Express reservations about Crazy Shay`s "Plan".
Make no mistake this "Plan" is about replacing a publicly owned monopoly with a Privately owned one...at a price......stench of corruption all along Kildare St methinks !!!!Posted 5 years ago # -
