This decision was arrived at following extensive surveys of our services on the Stillorgan QBC. What does it mean? It means that if you are riding the 46, 46A, 46C, 46D, 46E, 58C, 58X, 63, 84, 84X, 116, 117, 118 and 746 out of town to Stillorgan between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. on a week day, you will get dropped off on the N11. This is probably a stepping-stone towards moving all bus routes out of Stillorgan Village, despite claims in the article that this configuration is initially for a period of 3 monthsif DB likes the configuration, youll never see a bus running inside Stillorgan Village ever again. (Maybe people will like that arrangement better, so perhaps it is not a bad thing ?)

Yes it will lead to shorter journey times, but how do people get from the bus stop into Stillorgan Village?
The underground walkway is less than adequate, and if this continues into the winter months could be unsafe after dark, being popular with drunks and junkies.
And what about the stop itself, there is very little room on the path and, if memory serves correctly, neither a bus shelter nor safety barriers. Considering the large number of people that congregate at the bus stop in the village, is there even enough room on the footpath for the large numbers at this stop?
This scheme bears all the hallmarks of Dublin Bus trying to slip in an unpopular decision during the summer months, one wonders if it will last long.Posted 5 years ago # -
As a bus driver, I have to say that it is a great idea. Ten minutes are automatically knocked off the journey time. Yes. people have to walk a bit further, but they also get home quicker.
One day recently, I made the unfortunate mistake of turning right into Stillorgan at 17:00. As there was a stance inspector on duty on the N11 at the time, I had to perform an extremely dangerous u-turn at Oatlands School.Posted 5 years ago #
