   the results was as follows all of them wants the 220 axed and the 17a extended to ladyswell

   Those aren't old routes. The 17A never went any further west than the corner of Mellowes and Kildonan Roads. Also, the 17A is only thirty-something years old, yes? Not old by DB standards.
   
   The 17A is a mis-nomer anyway, since it has nothing to do with the 17 on the south side (Kilmainham-Blackrock) or even the old 17 from Whitehall to Rathfarnham.
   
   Nobody rides the 220 from Finglas to Poppintree? Now after almost two decades of that routing, I have a hard time believing that. Making the mis-numbered 17A a Ladyswell-Kilbarrack route will be detrimental to its timetable-keeping anyway.
