Returing home from a pleasant game of chess and several swigs of whiskey I was astounded by the lack of manners of so many of our young people today!!!
I counted no less than 7 mobular telephones resonating over the duration of my travel.
back whn i was a lad, we used to have to communicate by donkey phone. or the mobile potatoe. we didnt have any fancy american metal devil instruments to corrupt us. back then we wore aran sweaters and were GRATEFUL for them, this was back during the great hgunger and all and we didnt have a mobular phone for all the spuds in the west.

I feel it neccessary to mention that my bus journey a cuple of weeks ago left me so disturbed that I cannnot ever ride a bus again!
The doctor called it post-apres-telephonbus-syndrome-itis! It isn't looking good at the moment I may have to take the old tandem out oof retirement!
Ah well, at least i still have both my hips!

eh... 80% of mobile phones are made in scandinavian countries... ahem... america is way behind europe in this particular technology :-P

the only reason it bothers us to hear fellow passengers use their mobile phones on the bus/dart/whatever is that we, as human beings (some of us) are very nosey by nature. it really irritates us to hear only one end of the conversation, we want to know what is being said!

so go ahead, one and all, and in this free country use your mobile phone to your hearts desire in public... call your mum... your bro... your mot... your pet fish...

you may take our buses... but you'll never take OUR FREEDOM!

but the most wonderful thing about tiggers is....?

In reply to Jim McArdles comment, i must say that he has raised a very contraversial issue. Young people these days have neither respect nor manners. I was quite surprised by the person calling themselves tigger, this to me shows a lack of self confidence, who questioned Jim's right to a bit of peace and quiet on the bus.
I feel that as a citizen of honor and integrity Jim should be allowed his peace and should not be disturbed by some yuppies talking about their next drinking session.
I feel that young people these days are completley UNGRATEFUL for what they have.
Back when Jim and I were young we were gateful for everything that was given to us, even if it was a spanking by the teachers, we were grateful
Now let that be a lesson to you TIGGER
