Al on "the 14 and 14A bus routes" http://busrage.com/forum/topic/5089#post-5110 Sat, 10 Mar 2007 16:13:17 +0000 Al 5110@http://busrage.com/forum/ Less direct way to reach Ballinteer Road; forced transfer for passengers headed up Dundrum Road towards Milltown and Ranelagh (44 gets overloaded, since the 48A served as a Dundrum local bus in addition to going to Balinteer); fewer bus trips overall on Dundrum Road (Luas is no help for that corridor). Not to mention a greater burden on the 14 and 14A, not to mention the 75, from Broadford Park to Dundrum Road. Extending the 14 and 14A to the Dundrum Luas was a grave error in and of itself. Note the lack of positive anecdotes, on this thread and othersto wit, that reliability has been ill-affected, never mind the low frequency. Removing the 48A will aggravate this problem even further, since passengers who would have otherwise used the 48A on Ballinteer Road will now be forced to use the sparse 14/14A trips. Is D42C a decision-maker at Dublin Bus? No vindication of DB's errors will be found here, sorry. Have a lovely day. Last week at about 9.30am, think it was a thursday there were at least 3 14A's and a 14 at Dundrum.
