<description>Sorry Sean,but we in the Republic decided to go for full membership of the Big-School.&#60;br&#62;The T`s + C`s of our Maastricht led agreement restricted our use of opt-outs,in fact it dispensed with them altogether.&#60;br&#62;The entire Opt Out scenario is a hot potato within the European Commission too as it feels the UK has over indulged in such stuff.&#60;br&#62;Be happy that we in the republic will be enjoying &#34;More time with our Families&#34; and &#34;Work Life Balancing&#34; whilst our homes and cars are being taken away by the Repo Man....</description>

<description>Drivers, and other workers here in the UK can sign an opt-out on the 48 hour week, which is voluntary and means they can work longer hours, it does&#38;#39;nt affect the rest of the working time directive, but allows people to do overtime.</description>
