easy to say extend route.dont think you realise what is involved.eg running times, drivers hours, etc etc.too much bother for you to get a 38 into town.then a 10.you can also get a 39b from blanch to belfield if you walked over the bridge!

i live near blanchardstown hospital & the nearest stop for belfield is the 39x stop in blanchardstown village.

so here is my idea: why not extend the 38c to belfield
[posted by: qvc]

Well as it is, the buses are going to Belfield in order to turn around, it would make sense for them to collect fares from this point.
[posted by: P]

I think this thread was meant to be about the 4, not about new routes in general, valid though such a topic is. Anyway, I revisited that bus stop at Vincent's yesterday and now all the timetables have gone, but I am confident that a correct set will be put up in the next few days.

Don't you love when someone posts a thread called "New route" and doesn't say which route number in the title...?

My new "fav" is route 66D (because it serves Leixlip of course); but I don't like how they skipped over 66C to create it, nor do I like the limited service (once-daily), to a part of Leixlip that's needed direct bus service for quite a long time.

(Going further afield, how about we extend the 66B into Celbridge as well? St. Patrick's Park hasn't had a bus in ages.)

What a shame, rather than be glad to have a designated low floor bus route stopping in the grounds of your hospital, the management decide they want rid of it.

[posted by: P]

No, I'm afraid I was told by DB customer affairs that Vincent's had refused permission to DB to run a bus through the grounds, apparently for insurance-related reasons. In any event, DB was inept in putting the 4 timetable on that stop, and so helping to waste a lot of peoples' time.

I visited my dad in St Vincent's this morning, and then went for the bus to town. I noticed that the 4 route was on the timetable board at the Merrion Road stop (opp. Merrion Inn) which I thought strange since the 4s were clearly turning around on Nutley lane. As soon as I saw a 4 come out of Nutley lane and go up to the Tesco stop I rang DB, who admitted that the 4 timetable at that stop should not be there. The 4 was originally meant to go through part of Vincent's grounds and then pick up at both stops, but this is not now going to happen. I expect the timetable at the Merrion Road (opp Merrion Inn) stop to be amended in the next day or so. If anyone notices it still there after tomorrow, could you please let me or this board know?
