Don't you dare let it happen. They are not the law; the people are. You start letting the Guards terrorise you, then you're allowing the country to turn into a police state. Don't let the guards ever start acting like gangsters, either, as one of our panelists is indicating... Make no mistake,they have a badge,mess with them and they'll make his life(and that of every Aircoach driver) hell.They won't discriminate,they'll treat you all with equal contempt. 'cos i think they are not Irish and live in Uk or something and were on the way home. "We know where ye live"?????????????? Define what difficulties may be in store later. I am intrigued. Bear in mind that this fellow driver is quite a nice bloke. is never late or absent. keeps himself to himself and was probably almost reduced to tears by all the ranting and shouting in front of his skulls. Remember witness statements are regarded as contemperaneous ONLY if they are written down and noted within 24Hrs of the occurrence. Picture this scenario: Driving to the airport with aprox 6 skulls onboard along old swords road thru Santry. On passing the Marriot Hotel on the left, a red car is driving in the Buslane with undue hesitation and at a speed of less than 30mph. The AC Driver then flashes his headlights at the car which remains in the buslane. The AC driver then overtakes the red car and resumes his position in the Buslane once passed. A short while later, he hears the sounds of a siren and only assumes it is the red car which is driving at a rate of knots up his arse and even then with no flashing blue lights. Turns out the red car was an unmarked Garda Car and they have threatened to do him for Driving without undue care an attention. They say that "they are the Gardai and not him", he overtook without indicating and pulled infront and slammed brakes on. Furthermore he says they were so confrontational it was almost like a civillian in a fit of roadrage except they were wearing uniforms. The AC Driver has 2 witnesses willing to give statements.
