Interesting Story alright.
Strange though it appears that he was the "Sleeping Partner" and merely did the legwork (!).
You cant beat a good formidable woman to take a business idea and make a GO of it...!
Now we wait and see if ANY criminal charges arise from the World`s exclusive.......If there are none then where`s the beef..??
What about the Dublin Bus driver exposed in the Sunday paper as the owner of two brothels?

Now there's a fine example of "Park and Ride" in operation!!!!

SoS
[posted by: Steve O'Shea]

What you will find is that the N3 is backed up beyond the Vortex/County Club towards Dunshaughlin, well beyond the junction for Fairyhouse and Rathoath. It's no coincidence that a good deal of the Meath commuter runs on Bus Eireann are now run on double deckers.

The Navan to Clonsilla railway looks like it's so far back on the backest of burners that surely it will be exhumed as a proposal come the 2007 General Election for completion 2020 :-() and any proposal to Mosherway/Dual carriageway the N3 will be stuck in jams unless a big lump of Dublin 7 gets demolished.

No gain and all pain looks like the outcome until mid century. The solution?

Sell and Move.

[posted by: Luaswatcher]

Good for you RS.
Excellent points and all the more important for the stunning silence which greets suggestions such as this.
The cold facts are that Fairyhouse/Punchestown/Leopardstown are heavily in reciept of public Funding through Bord Na gCapall and God only knows how many other cash dispensing agencies.
The returns which we the (non-race going) public get on OUR tax Euro are minimal to nil.
It is no coincidence that the Horse Breeding industry has been treated gently over several of Minister McCreevys Budgets.
Yet if these idiot Polititians had any bit of savvy they might see some gain in "Ordinary" folks at least being able to inspect these Racecourses and maybe deciding on the basis of the facilities to return for a days racing on their weekend off.
Your post is all the more poigniant when one considers the imminent large-scale,5 year long disruption of the M50.
Yet I have not seen or heard a peep from S.Brennan et al concerning any public transport initiatives which could be attempted in order to lessen the pain and suffering which is bound to result.
All I have heard is the "No gain without the Pain" mantra which seems to be the only Official response these days..
Winner alright !!!!

While AA Roadwatch are displaying an extraordinary concern for the thousands???? of motorists who use the Sally Gap each morning, scant regard is paid to the great western thoroughfare called the N3 beyond Blanchardstown. If the Sally Gap is such an important route that inconveniences thousands when there is a bit of snow in the winter why doesn’t Wicklow County Council get out and do its job and clear the road, so that the thousands of motorists can speed over the mountains unhindered. Why don’t the AA instead focus on something real for a change?

The N3 is bad in the mornings, and congestion is not just caused by people in the Dublin Bus catchment driving into town. It’s caused by all those people that live in County Meath that can’t get in any other way because Meath Bus don’t provide an adequate service.

Why not consider “Park and Ride”? The car park needn’t be placed in the docks either. What about Fairyhouse Racecourse?

That has a bloody great big car park that's empty all week. There's a site for a "Park and Ride" --- AND nobody from that area would have to drive into the city centre to use it. How about that Séamus?? Do you reckon you could get some privateers , oops I meant private operators, to set up routes from there, or are you only interested in giving them the lucrative Dublin Bus routes??????????

The same kind of operation could set up at Punchestown, Leopardstown but then maybe they're not near enough to the city centre to make a complete mollicks of it!
