While highly unlikely with the economic climate of CIE, I would like to see a service once and for all introduced to Dalkey, Sandycove and Killiney that would link them DIRECTLY with the LUAS. It doesn't have to be extremely frequent. Maybe half hourly on-peak and hourly off-peak and also a service that would link it to the Stillorgan QBC with a similar frequency. Perhaps, an all day and all week 7D with trimmed down frequency on Saturday and Sundays.

Public transport may not be there to make money for itself (really, to help companies make money by getting their workers there and home in a timely fashion, which is not helped by vehicles getting in the way on bus lanes!)...but consultants' primary objective is to make money, for themselves.

Traffic jams result in billions of euros of lost business per day. You stick with a "moneymakers run only" formula and you won't have a bus service that will attract travellers for purposes other than commuting to/from work, and having a huge gap in between rush hour bus service and Nitelink; I'm sure that cab drivers would love that. (May as well cancel the 45 to the Esplanade in Bray, with that kind of thinking, except for seasonal travel. Bad enough they've been cutting the 45 to the Esplanade, never mind cutting all 45A travel there ages ago.)
